Christine Casey Supports Alleged Orphan Trafficking, via Ngima Dawa Tamang's Apparent Fake Orphanage, "Cchahari Children's Home"

Ngima Dawa Tamang
Ngima Dawa Tamang's supposed orphanage apparently admits to orphan trafficking.

The below page on the Chhahari Children's Home website says that "Chhahari continues to search for children who fit Chahari criteria, i.e. age and grade in desperate family situations."

Dawa's site admits his supposed orphanage is "searching" for other people's children -- and convincing the parents to let their children go.  This is probably done by paying the parents money for their children.

It is well documented that recruiters take children from their families and sell them into orphanages for the purpose of profit, to attract funding from foreign donors, volunteers and tourists.  Globally it is estimated that four out of five of these children are not orphans.  These children are known as "paper orphans", and the practice meets the current interpretation of the definition of trafficking. (From Paper Orphans: Exploring Child Trafficking for the Purpose of Orphanages)

Since 2006, many stories have emerged in Nepal regarding children being constructed as  "paper" orphans and trafficked to orphanages in order to take advantage of the orphanage tourism business where westerners pay to volunteer with orphans. (From Nepal's bogus orphan trade fuelled by rise in 'voluntourism'Dawa's "orphanage" was started in 2007.

Christine D. Casey it the founder of the U. S. branch of this apparently fake orphanage. She is even advertised right along the statement about apparent orphan trafficking, prominently featured and her title announced: "Founder and President Chhahari, U.S."

Christine D. Casey apparently supports orphan trafficking.

Christine Casey helps promote alleged orphan trafficking in Nepal.

EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF NGIMA DAWA'S "ORPHANAGE"

Ngima Dawa  has been implicated in many crimes alleged of the Bomjon cult, such as kidnapping, rape, and even murder.  Marici was held hostage and sexually and physically assaulted by Bomjon and his cult  Marici says that Ngima Dawa was aware and complicit in these alleged crimes.

Previously, Marici had stayed at Ngima Dawa's Family Homestay guesthouse.  Marici says that Dawa's orphange, like many many in Nepal, is a fake orphanage:
As is typical for Nepali orphanages, the children are NOT orphans. They are taken away from poor families, who are promised the children will get an education in the city. Then they are used as tools to get large donations from Westerners. I was invited to the "orphanage" run by Ngima.  I spoke with some of the children, they typically told me they had a  mother and father in their village at home.
      Dawa and Casey, center.
Marici says that Dawa's orphanage is used to funnel funds to Bomjon's cult:
Ngima Dawa Tamang is a liar who also played a role in covering up the crimes against me. He also tried to cheat me. He is a dangerous ‘extremely dedicated Buddhist’ who owns a fake orphanage and always asks for donations, but that money ends up in Bomjon's pocket, not his orphanage.

      "ORPHANS", ABUSE, AND SEX TRAFFICKING

The children at Nepal's supposed orphanages also run the risk of being physically and sexually abused, and being sex trafficked.  Child slavery and child sex slavery happen fairly easily in Nepal.  .

Nepal is a hub for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking. Nepali women and girls are subjected to sex trafficking in Nepal, India, the Middle East, Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa (U.S. State Dept Trafficking in Persons Report, June, 2017)

However, the numbers of trafficking cases registered with the Nepal Police is still low against the believed number of trafficking victims... More than 95 percent of victims are females, and 3 in four victims do not have education at all, which makes them more vulnerable.  (Office of the Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS NATIONAL REPORT 2015/16).

BOMJON VICTIM SAYS CHRISTINE CASEY KNEW SHE WAS BEING TORTURED -- AND DID NOTHING

Marici says Christine Casey, like Ngima, was aware and complicit in the crimes she endured by the Bomjon cult:
Christine Casey knew about what was done to me by Bomjon and continued to support Ngima Dawa as if nothing happened. I can even easily imagine that she had seen Manu locked up at Dawa's propety and not allowed to get medical treatment or meet her family...
I know Christine from my very first trip to Nepal when I also stayed a bout two weeks Dawa's guesthouse. She seemed to do most of the organizing work for Dawa's orphanage. It was she who first helped introduce me to Kathmandu, as she was the only foreigner there that time. But we did not become close friends, just acquaintances. She was too formal, too diplomatic.

Christine featured prominently on Ngima's hostel website www.familyhomestays.com

I think Christine was either his business partner in the orphanage or his sponsor. In any case, there is a long bond of many years between Dawa and Christine, and she is protected from any of Dawa's dark activities in the Bomjon cult.
Ngima Dawa used to have a Facebook page where he advertised his orphanage along with the Bomjon cult. I suspect that Christine had told him at one point that being associated with Bomjon's crime stories stories in the media would harm the reputation of the orphanage.
I felt very disappointed to see her still remaining with Dawa.  After all my case was in the media:  The horrific experience of a European, one who she had walked through Kathmandu's zig-zag streets with and had breakfast together with.
Marici talks about how she met Ngima Dawa's brother, who complained heavily he had been shafted by Dawa out of his inheritance:
The first red flag about Ngima Dawa was an unplanned meeting with Dawa's brother. While Dawa's house and guesthouse is a huge villa, with many floors and rooms, like a small palace, his brother was living in a ruined cheap house just behind (on the side) attached to that Dawa's huge villa.
I met his brother when I went to the yard to wash my clothes.  His brother spoke a bit of English and he complained to me how Dawa had tricked him and that he lost all his family inheritance, he said Dawa had taken it all.  I cannot recall the details, but the brother felt very harmed and felt a great injustice from what Dawa had done.
I felt so sorry for him, but that time I had come to meet Bomjon and was not in a position to solve the situation of Dawa's brother.  He and his wife lived in very poor condition, while Dawa traveled regularly to the US and had lots of money, the best clothes, a business.
When Dawa saw me speaking with his brother, he became nervous and angry. Dawa told me some stupid dismissive information, attempting to convince me that it was useless to speak with his brother.  Maybe he said his brother was a liar,  I don't remember exactly. But he told me he did not wish me to speak to him again!

DAWA'S PROPAGANDA THAT ORPHANAGES ARE NEEDED

In this page on Dawa's website, his uses typical propaganda that orphanages like his are needed, saying, "Many countries have little choice when dealing with their growing orphan problem except to place the children in orphanages."  Statements like this are used to justify their recruiting of children from their parents, calling them "orphans" when they are not, so they can continue to extract money from foreigners. These foreigners are easily manipulated into feeding into this corrupt system.

VIDEO: ORPHANAGE HOMES BUSTED FOR CHILD TRAFFICKING

This video is about an organization for the rescue of children from orphanages with deplorable conditions, which is common across Nepal, urging the government and proper authorities to investigate such cases and carry out rescue operations to protect children from further harm.
